Job description

For a company in Zeeland we are looking for a Senior Team Lead Plans and Arrangements.
As a Senior Team Lead for Plans & Arrangements, you will oversee an engineering team of roughly 15–20 professionals located across different sites. Your role is to provide clear guidance, establish effective structures, and ensure consistent delivery throughout complex naval projects. From the earliest design phases, you will implement a robust work breakdown and planning framework, maintain control over quality, cost, and schedules, and align all activities with the project’s objectives. While technical knowledge is essential, your primary focus will be on leadership, coordination, and strategic decision-making. You will report directly to the Project Manager Engineering and serve as a stabilizing force within the department.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15–20 engineers specializing in Plans & Arrangements across multiple locations.
• Organize planning processes, distribute workloads effectively, and set priorities to guarantee reliable outcomes.
• Define and maintain work breakdown structures, manage resources, and monitor team capacity.
• Ensure that all Plans & Arrangements deliverables meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget requirements throughout
the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and synchronize Plans & Arrangements activities with overall project goals.
• Uphold compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal engineering guidelines.
• Track team performance, identify risks, and proactively remove obstacles to progress.
• Act as a primary liaison between Project Management, other engineering departments, and external partners.
• Provide support for production and shipyard operations related to Plans & Arrangements when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote knowledge sharing within the team and department.
Your qualifications
• A university degree in engineering or a related technical field, combined with significant experience in Plans & Arrangements
or outfitting design, ideally within complex naval programs.
• A proven track record of managing large engineering teams and coordinating activities across several locations.
• Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to coach, make decisions, and provide clear guidance.
• The capability to turn project objectives into achievable schedules and team priorities.
• Solid technical understanding to review and challenge engineering content without being required to perform detailed
design work yourself.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary environments and working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Positive references and a clean background, as security clearance is a standard part of the recruitment process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and a valid EU passport are mandatory. Candidates holding only an EU work visa or dual
nationality (EU and non-EU) cannot be considered due to the defense-related nature of the projects.
Do you already see yourself working here? I'd love to invite you for a cup of coffee!
