Job description
For our client in Zeeland province we are looking for a Piping Engineer.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer Valves and Fittings (Mechanical / Marine Engineering) to join our team in Vlissingen. In this role, you will serve as the primary specialist responsible for choosing, integrating, and validating valve and fitting solutions across our naval vessel projects. To give an idea of the scale: a single naval ship can contain over 5,000 valves and fittings spread throughout its piping network.
As an Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings, you will work closely with internal departments, external partners, and subcontractors from the proposal stage through final delivery, ensuring that all systems meet demanding performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.

As Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings, your tasks will include:
• Creating and refining system concepts while determining the most suitable valve and fitting arrangements during the engineering phases.
• Contributing to multidisciplinary design teams and supporting them with your technical expertise.
• Drafting and assessing technical specifications used for supplier and subcontractor activities.
• Reviewing and comparing supplier quotations and verifying that all required documentation is delivered.
• Gathering, checking, and distributing supplier engineering data to ensure it is available for all relevant design teams.
• Performing integration assessments and test activities that focus on the correct interaction of valves and fittings with surrounding systems.
• Identifying gaps, risks, or potential enhancements in the integration of supplied components, and coordinating improvements with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Driving continuous improvement through validation efforts, testing cycles, and optimisation initiatives.
• Providing occasional on-site support during factory acceptance tests (FAT), installation activities, and commissioning procedures such as HAT and SAT.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth collaboration.
Your qualifications
For the position of Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:• MTS or HTS degree in Mechanical, Marine, or related technical field
• Thorough knowledge of piping, system integration, and regulations
• Experience with valves and fittings in marine or offshore projects
• Result-oriented with effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English and Dutch is a plus
• Experience with CAD tools such as Cadmatic and 3DExperience (Catia) is a plus
• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
• Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
