Job description
For our client in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Maintenance Engineer Static to strengthen the team.
As a Maintenance Engineer (Static equipment), you will take ownership of the reliability and integrity of critical equipment within one of Europe’s leading chemical plants. You play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations by combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving.
This role offers more than just engineering: you will collaborate with inspection teams, contractors, and international colleagues, while also building strong relationships across the site.

Your responsibilities include:
• Solving technical issues and preparing high-quality maintenance plans for static equipment
• Safeguarding execution quality of projects, turnarounds, and overhauls
• Leading and supporting teams during preparation and execution phases
• Working closely with inspection engineers to determine optimal repair strategies
• Building networks across technical disciplines, third parties, and other sites
• Participating in the mechanical call-out organisation and contributing to continuous improvement
Your qualifications
• A team player who thrives in a dynamic and demanding environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and take ownership
• Bachelor or Master degree in (Electro)Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in maintenance, turnarounds, or projects within the (petro)chemical industry
• Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to reliability and quality
• Fluent in Dutch and English, able to communicate across all levels of the organisation
