Job description

For our client in Zeeland province we are looking for a Document Controller.
As a Document Controller, you will play a vital support role within a naval shipbuilding project environment focused on delivering advanced, high‑tech vessels. You will be part of a project team responsible for ensuring that all project documentation is accurately managed and efficiently exchanged with clients, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
In this position, you will oversee the planning and execution of both internal and external document distributions according to agreed schedules. You will actively monitor follow‑up actions to ensure that all required information is delivered on time and in full. Safeguarding confidentiality is a key aspect of the role, requiring you to verify that documents are shared strictly in line with authorization levels and access rights. All received and dispatched information must be correctly registered and maintained under strict configuration control within Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

Key Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities in this role include:

• Processing incoming and outgoing documentation and supplier data across multiple systems, including PDM and PLM platforms.
• Registering, distributing, and tracking documentation to ensure availability for authorized stakeholders.
• Proactively expediting document flows to meet project timelines and milestones.
• Ensuring the timely delivery of internal documentation and external vendor data.
• Coordinating with internal teams as well as external parties such as customers and subcontractors to resolve
documentation and data‑related issues across multiple sub‑projects.
• Taking timely and effective corrective actions when delays or delivery risks are identified.
• Providing clear reporting on the status, progress, and performance of document control activities.
• Continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements to document control processes and workflows.
Your qualifications
We are seeking professionals who meet the following criteria:

• At least two years of hands-on experience in document control, administrative support, and the handling of supplier documentation within a technical, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management
(PLM) systems, preferably including Enovia.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on advanced Excel usage.
• A completed bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Personal qualities such as precision, initiative, strong attention to detail, adaptability, and well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory; basic knowledge of Dutch or German is considered an advantage, or a clear willingness to learn one of these languages.
• The ability to provide excellent professional references, as a background and security screening forms part of the selection process.
• Possession of permanent European Union citizenship and a valid EU passport is required; applicants holding temporary EU work permits or dual EU and non‑EU nationalities or passports cannot be considered due to the sensitive and defense‑related nature of the projects.
