Job description
For our client in the Amsterdam area we are looking for a Dev Engineer Oracle / Java
Are you passionate about transforming legacy systems into scalable, resilient, and high-performance platforms? We are rebuilding a critical Oracle-based infrastructure for ingesting, processing, and reporting on financial data, and we are looking for an experienced engineer to join the mission. Bring your expertise in databases, Java, and platform design to help shape the future of financial reporting.
You will join the Statutory & Regulatory Reporting Tribe, supporting global Finance departments and regulators by building and maintaining high-quality reporting solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities
✅ Design, develop and modernize a core Oracle-based platform
✅ Ensure resilience, scalability, and high performance of processing and reporting systems
✅ Translate complex financial processes into efficient technical solutions
✅ Maintain and improve legacy components, including Oracle Forms, Apex, and Designer
✅ Implement best practices in logging, monitoring, and testing
✅ Collaborate with DevOps teams in an Agile setting
✅ Contribute to future-proofing the platform through innovation and modernization

Your qualifications
Must-Have Skills:• Strong knowledge of relational databases, especially Oracle
• Proven experience in PL/SQL and SQL
• Proficiency in Java (Object-Oriented, Procedural, Functional)
• Familiarity with Oracle Designer, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Apex
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and source control systems
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum practices
• Comfortable working in international, cross-functional teams
• Completed education (Bachelor or Master in IT or related field)
• Strong English communication skills

• Gross monthly salary in the range of €5.212 – €8.387 (based on 36 hrs/week)
• 24–27 vacation days depending on your contract
