Job description

For our client in Zeeland province we are looking for a Data Engineer.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that enables efficient data integration and analysis across the organization. In this role, you will ensure that data from various systems is properly structured, accessible, and reliable for operational and engineering processes.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to connect data sources, build scalable data pipelines, and support the organization’s transition towards more data-driven decision making. Your work will contribute directly to improving reporting, optimizing workflows, and enabling teams to make better informed decisions.

The position requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work in a complex engineering environment where data plays an increasingly important role in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and prepare data from multiple internal and external sources for use within the organization’s data warehouse.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from systems such as Oracle databases using SQL Server and SSIS.
• Build and optimize data pipelines, data models, and queries to ensure efficient data processing and reporting.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide technical support to internal stakeholders when required.
• Document ETL workflows, data models, and configurations to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operational teams to integrate data solutions into existing business processes.
• Improve the performance and reliability of reporting solutions and dashboards.
• Develop and implement automated solutions for data processing and validation.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and support colleagues in improving data-related processes.
Your qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (5–7 years experience) or Master's degree (3–5 years experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL-based data modeling, transformations, and optimizations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required.
