Job description
Voor onze opdrachtgever in de omgeving Amsterdam zijn wij op zoek naar een Architecture Practice Lead Data & Governance.
Are you an experienced technology leader with a passion for enterprise architecture, data governance, and best practice enablement? This role offers you the opportunity to shape how architecture is practiced across a fast-evolving global digital organization. You will influence strategy, drive consistency, and orchestrate architecture portfolio alignment, all within a high-performing, diverse, and agile environment.
As Enterprise Architecture Practice & Governance Lead, you’ll play a vital role in developing, scaling, and embedding enterprise architecture standards and methodologies across the organization. Your primary focus will be on information architecture, data governance, and architecture enablement — enabling strategic decisions through structure, clarity, and consistency.
You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, portfolio, and strategy teams to ensure that architecture decisions align with business goals and technology direction. You will also coach and guide architects across domains in the consistent use of frameworks, tooling, and modeling standards.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Develop and continuously improve EA processes, guidelines, and best practices — especially around information and data architecture
✅ Establish and manage governance structures for architecture decisions, technical debt management, and verification processes
✅ Guide the adoption of architecture modeling standards (e.g., ArchiMate), including tooling, catalog structures, and reference views
✅ Design and implement roadmapping practices that ensure consistent architecture development across domains
✅ Train architects on EA frameworks, modeling approaches, and best practices, while promoting global knowledge sharing
✅ Promote the use of innovative technologies and methodologies to advance architectural effectiveness
✅ Coordinate and align architecture efforts across teams, locations, and platforms
✅ Lead the orchestration of the enterprise architecture portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and proper resource allocation
✅ Act as a catalyst for harmonizing architecture processes globally — blending leadership, facilitation, and deep architectural expertise

Your qualifications
You are a systems thinker with a structured mindset and strong facilitation skills. You can connect strategic goals to executable architecture practices and lead others by example. You’re energized by helping others mature their architecture practice — through governance, enablement, and innovation.Required Skills and Experience
• Strong experience in enterprise architecture, particularly in information architecture and data governance
• Deep understanding of EA tooling, modeling (e.g., ArchiMate), and framework management
• Proven track record in establishing architectural standards, roadmaps, and governance processes
• Skilled in facilitating workshops, training programs, and cross-domain alignment initiatives
• Experience working in complex, global, agile environments
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — across technical, business, and executive levels
Preferred Personal Attributes
• Collaborative mindset with a natural ability to coach and mentor
• Analytical and detail-oriented, yet able to maintain a strategic overview
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Curiosity and openness to innovation and continuous improvement
This is a high-impact leadership role with the chance to shape global architecture processes and standards from the ground up. You'll work in a collaborative, flexible setting with strong support for innovation and personal development.

• 24–27 vacation days (depending on contract type)
• 13th month salary
• 8% holiday allowance
• Pension plan
• Individual Savings Contribution (BIS): 3.5% of annual gross salary
• Hybrid working model for flexibility and collaboration
• A learning-driven environment with access to challenging work and internal growth
