Job description
As the Manager of the Engineering Support Subdepartment, you will guide your team toward the effective delivery of engineering support services. Your role will involve providing leadership and strategic oversight while managing personnel, optimizing resources, and enhancing tool proficiency. Additionally, you will play a key role in broader engineering and proposal initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing resource planning for the group to ensure optimal distribution across project teams, ensuring all necessary capabilities are available.
Making sure that all management tasks are performed within established timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Cultivating internal and external partnerships, collaborating with other entities and suppliers to meet shared strategic objectives.
Assessing and enhancing internal performance metrics to build a productive and unified team.
Proposing enhancements to operational plans, policies, and procedures to meet business goals, aligning with both short- and long-term priorities, while fostering innovative approaches within the department.
Providing expert support for proposal reviews and engaging in cross-functional design assessments alongside project teams and suppliers.
Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of processes, as well as the development and retention of knowledge within the department.
Your qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
A minimum of ten years of experience with various engineering concepts and practices, particularly in the engineering, manufacturing, and integration of complex systems, preferably in maritime or mechanical domains related to new ship construction.
Familiarity with management techniques, especially in financial and contract oversight.
Proficiency in both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong references, as a standard pre-employment security screening is part of the recruitment process.
Important:
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are mandatory; candidates holding only an NL/EU work visa or those with mixed EU and non-EU nationality are not eligible due to the requirements linked to the military nature of the projects.
