Job description
The Project engineer is responsible for design related tasks of masts, booms, rigging and parts and actively supervises the design in the production stage.
Produce design as required to meet the Design Office and Production schedules
Work to company standard procedures & policies, to ensure your design output is of the required quality & accuracy
Work with other departments to assist their efforts to meet planned & unplanned task deadlines
Work with all staff in establishing and maintaining a satisfying and productive work environment for all Design Office staff
Adhere to the companies H & S policy and ensure the appropriate procedures & standards are being followed by all Stream members
Design Operations
Complete design, drafting & checking tasks under the supervision of Team Lead Engineering, Senior designers & Design Engineers
Provide support to other departments as required
Maintain an understanding of your teams’ output requirements (planned & unplanned)
Manage your own workload & monitor own time keeping through communications with Team Lead Engineering and Project Manager running the project
Follow checking & design procedures, including completion of all QC documentation as required
Report & correct errors as required and proactively contribute in developing procedures to eliminate repeats
Proactively monitor jobs and suggest cost/time saving improvements where possible
Risk and Compliance
Health & Safety – Ensures compliance with health and safety requirements and actively promotes a safe culture
Complies with Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times

Your qualifications
MBO level or bachelor
Experience in shipbuilding industry
Technical background in composite design/production
Autocad / Solidworks or similar software
Mechanical and structural design experience
MS office incl. Excel
Fluent in English and preferably Dutch or willing to learn
