Material coordinators
The Material Coordinator is responsible for complying with procedures for the receipt and despatch of all kinds of materials. The Material Coordinator knows the procedures and the laws and regulations for the transport and registration of hazardous substances and waste. Through knowledge and experience, the Material Coordinator, with his feeling for internal systems, priorities and sense of realism can supervise the flow of goods to and from the project location.
The duties of a Material Coordinator can include:
- Entering and registering requests for materials, tools and equipment in the internal system and confirming and registering the delivery date;
- Coordinating the removal of excess materials;
- Monitoring and registering internal requests for materials, tools and equipment upon receipt;
- Ensuring that the materials, tools and equipment are taken to the destination as specified on the work package;
- Communicating the performance of suppliers to the purchasing services;
- Coordinating the repair and/or return of materials, tools and equipment obtained through a multi-task work order;
- Using classification/codes to obtain contract prices;
- Handling of Missing Receivings and Blocked Invoices.
