Construction superintendents
The Construction Superintendent is answerable to the Construction Manager or Project Manager and gives guidance to Construction Supervisors or sometimes directly to contractors. The duties of a Construction Superintendent include:
- Identifying the jobs, materials, services and tools required for the scope of work of a project;
- Assisting in the preparation of work orders;
- Managing supervisors or contractors;
- Presiding over construction meetings;
- Acting as coordinator / administrator for distribution and archiving of close-out packages and related internal and external correspondence for specific work;
- Ensuring that delivered materials and operations are in line with pre-established quality standards;
- Ensuring that documentation is carefully reviewed and checked for quality and content.
