Vacature omschrijving

As an interim Structural Analyst in Research and Development (R&D), you will be part of a dedicated team within the Naval & Structural division, which operates under the Engineering department. Your role will involve working on various projects that span both basic and detailed engineering phases, contributing to innovative advancements in ship structure assessments. You will be engaged in global research and development efforts to enhance the design, validation, and application of advanced structural analysis techniques.

In this role, you will be tasked with creating comprehensive structural designs, supported by relevant calculations, from the proposal stage through to the entire service life of the vessel. Your responsibilities will include producing both general construction plans and detailed structural calculations, with a focus on aspects such as strength, fatigue, stiffness, vibrations, buckling, and military load assessments (e.g., blast resistance, sound signatures). Producibility and maintainability considerations will also be part of your design process.

As an interim Structural Analyst R&D, you will oversee the preparation of project deliverables, including class approval of the structure, and will regularly engage in technical meetings with colleagues, suppliers, class societies, and client representatives. You will guide structural engineers in 3D CAD modeling and contribute to ensuring that the resulting drawings and production packages meet high standards. Additionally, you will be encouraged to share knowledge and drive improvements within the department's internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions in ship structural engineering.
Specify, develop, and test simulation software tools to support engineering tasks.
Integrate and optimize existing software products, ensuring compatibility across platforms.
Develop standards and document best practices for engineering processes and methodologies.
Ensure all designs and solutions comply with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
