As the Risk Manager, you will be integral to the successful execution of large and complex shipbuilding projects. Your role will involve creating long-term strategies for risk mitigation, action plans, and contingency measures. These plans will be based on your thorough and ongoing analysis, identification, and categorization of potential risks that could impact the shipbuilding process. You will evaluate the severity and potential consequences of all identified risks, documenting them in a detailed risk register that complies with applicable regulations and standards. By communicating your insights to relevant stakeholders, you will enhance awareness of these risks and their implications, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying and recording potential risks that may affect shipbuilding projects, encompassing technical, financial, operational, and geopolitical factors.
Prioritizing significant risks using qualitative and quantitative methods, focusing on their impact and probability.
Formulating long-term risk mitigation strategies to embed risk management into organizational operations.
Continuously monitoring project risks, observing changes and new threats to project success.
Delivering regular risk reports to stakeholders, outlining the status and progress of mitigation efforts.
Maintaining a detailed risk register that includes assessments and mitigation strategies.
Reviewing and evaluating contract terms to ensure fair risk distribution in line with organizational risk tolerance.
Managing financial risks associated with project budgets and implementing measures to reduce financial repercussions.
Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards to minimize legal risks.
Prioritizing the management of safety and environmental risks to protect personnel and reduce ecological impact.
Assessing risks related to suppliers and vendors, including potential disruptions in the supply chain.
Facilitating the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned from risk events to enhance future risk management strategies.
Contributing to the evaluation and ongoing improvement of departmental processes.
Je profiel
Over 3 years of experience in a risk management role within the manufacturing sector, preferably in naval shipbuilding.
Strong expertise in identifying risks and evaluating their severity according to ISO 31000 standards.
Experience working in complex project environments with international stakeholders.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Shipbuilding, Technical Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with industrial engineering principles and techniques in the offshore or maritime industry, particularly naval shipbuilding.
Proficiency in English, with additional knowledge of Dutch being advantageous, both written and spoken.
Excellent references as a standard part of the pre-employment security screening process.
Important:
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are required. Candidates with an EU (work) visa or dual nationality (EU and non-EU) are not eligible due to the specific requirements of military-related projects.
