HSE Officer

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust HSE policies, procedures, and systems. This role focuses on cultivating a safety-oriented culture within the workplace, ensuring the well-being of employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors. The HSE Officer will oversee all HSE-related activities, offering guidance, conducting assessments, and reporting on key issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing HSE initiatives and fostering a safety-first approach across the organization.

Collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Developing and overseeing the implementation of HSE procedures, plans, and policies.

Leading HSE audits, conducting risk assessments, and recommending appropriate mitigation actions.

Offering expert HSE advice to leadership, ensuring adherence to legal and contractual obligations.

Leading continuous improvement initiatives related to health, environmental matters, and hazardous materials.

Investigating incidents, maintaining accurate records, and providing reports to relevant parties.

Conducting training sessions and briefings on HSE best practices and legal updates.

Providing guidance and support to junior HSE staff.

Je profiel

At least 5 years of experience in HSE system development and stakeholder engagement.

Proven expertise in managing and executing HSE projects, as well as delivering HSE training.

A Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in a technical field.

In-depth knowledge of HSE management systems and industry best practices.

A preference for candidates with a ‘Hogere Veiligheidskunde’ (HVK) diploma.

Strong professional references, as a standard background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

EU citizenship and a valid passport are required. Candidates holding an EU (work) visa or dual nationality (EU and non-EU) will not be considered due to the nature of the projects involved.
