Job description
We are seeking an interim professional for a temporary position lasting one year. The ideal candidate will work from our headquarters in Vlissingen at least three days a week, so we strongly prefer applicants who live within commuting distance. For the remaining days, you may work from home or from our office in Schiedam.
In the role of Interim Subcontract Manager Simulation, you will play a crucial part in supporting technical activities related to the definition, procurement, engineering, and installation of Electrical & Automation systems for new ship designs, as well as for maintenance and retrofitting projects. Your efforts will ensure adherence to all relevant requirements and specifications, focusing on enhancing the reliability, quality, safety, sustainability, and efficiency of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with integration activities in medium-value projects and supporting the Technical Subcontract Manager responsible for the overall contracted scope.
Contributing to the basic engineering package for both standard and new products, utilizing relevant information and specifications while adhering to applicable regulations and engineering standards.
Reviewing the detailed engineering package derived from the basic engineering documentation.
Identifying deficiencies and proposing enhancements for both the basic and detailed engineering packages, while advising team leads and technical specialists as necessary.
Participating in project design reviews and attending key contractual milestones, tests, and trials, such as FAT, HAT, and SAT as the accepting party.
Assisting in the evaluation of proposals, technical assessments, and cost analyses.
Contributing to the evaluation and continuous improvement of departmental processes and facilitating the development, transfer, and retention of knowledge within the team.
Your qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a technical discipline with at least one year of experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical installations and/or automation systems, ideally in relation to navigation and communication systems used in ships or offshore installations.
Experience working with class-regulated products and in complex project environments involving vendors and subcontractors.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Dutch and German is a plus.
Preferably, reside within commuting distance of Vlissingen and Schiedam.

Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are required; candidates with NL/EU work visas or those holding both EU and non-EU nationalities/passports are not eligible due to the military nature of our projects.
