Job description
We are seeking a Technical Author/Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects related to ILS scope and services for naval vessels. Your focus will be on enhancing the availability and operational readiness of the ships at the lowest possible lifecycle cost.
Your responsibilities will include analyzing maintenance plans and tasks, creating technical documentation (S1000D), and supporting supply logistics, including special tools and test equipment, as well as training. You will collaborate with various disciplines within the organization to prepare ILS deliverables. As a Technical Author/Engineer ILS, you will handle a diverse range of tasks within the ILS domain, working within multifunctional teams to ensure the timely delivery of ILS products while adhering to budget and quality standards. Your contributions will enhance customer satisfaction and support the ongoing development of the strategic ILS technology roadmap.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Technical Author/Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), your primary duties will include:
Conducting ILS analyses, including Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and other ILS topics.
Assessing and reporting on the reliability and maintainability of naval equipment.
Collaborating with the technical design department and reporting directly to the Project Manager for ILS.
Working on ILS products, including purchasing support, maintenance/LSA (Logistics Support Analysis), RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability), and LCC calculations, as well as documentation, training, and technology transfer.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements set by the company and end-users.
Delivering ILS products and services within agreed timelines and budget while meeting relevant quality standards.
Assisting in the drafting and review of ILS proposals and contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of ILS products, processes, and methodologies.
Preparing training materials for technical equipment and naval products.
Creating budget estimates and project cost assessments.
Reviewing technical regulations and technical drawings applicable to each project.
Your qualifications
To succeed as a Technical Author/Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), you should have the following qualifications and qualities:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marine engineering or a related field.
Knowledge and experience in ILS, particularly in developing and executing ILS packages within a technical or • Ministry of Defence environment, or relevant maintenance experience in an engineering context.
Experience working in multifunctional and multicultural teams.
Proficiency in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages such as German and Spanish is an advantage.
A naval background or a strong affinity for naval environments and culture is preferred.
Strong references are required, as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment process.
Important:
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are mandatory. Candidates with only an NL/EU work visa or those holding both EU and non-EU nationality/passport are not eligible due to the military nature of the projects.
