Job description
We are seeking an experienced interim Systems Engineer for Marine Systems and Systems Architecture to take the lead in the development of mechanical marine systems. This role requires a solid background in shipbuilding or similar industries and will be crucial in delivering large-scale projects.
As an interim Systems Engineer Marine Systems - Systems Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring project processes meet contractual and regulatory requirements, overseeing design and engineering deliverables, and maintaining design integrity. Your role will involve coordinating teams, promoting collaboration, and ensuring that high-level functional and technical requirements are met.
In this position, you will lead interdisciplinary design reviews, verify engineering documentation, and drive technical excellence through effective requirement management and the development of innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate technical requirements related to the integration of marine systems, products, and processes.
Ensure compliance of engineering documents with technical standards, ensuring requirements are traceable to contracts.
Foster cross-functional collaboration to deliver optimal solutions that align with project objectives.
Oversee reviews with customers and classification bodies, addressing their feedback and achieving alignment on requirements.
Contribute to design verification and system testing, including FAT, HAT, and SAT processes.
Participate in milestone meetings and ensure timely delivery of project milestones with adherence to schedule and quality standards.
Expedite internal and external project contributions, ensuring the delivery of engineering documentation on time.
Your qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, with at least five years of hands-on experience working with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers in shipbuilding or a similar industry.
A minimum of five years’ experience in marine systems engineering or a related field, particularly in shipbuilding or complex system integration.
Proven project management experience with a strong technical background in marine systems and expertise in managing complex system manufacturing or subcontracting.
Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to make decisive, results-oriented decisions.
Fluent in English (written and verbal), with proficiency in German considered a significant advantage.
Strong references, as pre-employment security screening is part of the recruitment process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required. Candidates holding only non-EU nationality or those with a non-EU passport are not eligible due to the nature of our projects.
