Job description
As a Structural Analyst, you will join the Naval & Structural team, playing a crucial role in both foundational and detailed engineering processes. Your main responsibility will be to create structural designs and perform necessary calculations throughout various project phases, including proposals, yard support, and final delivery of the vessel. You will address multiple elements such as strength, stiffness, vibrations, manufacturability, and maintainability, ensuring that all work aligns with regulatory standards and client specifications. Furthermore, you may also engage in research and development projects, contributing to advancements in structural analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Producing high-quality engineering outputs within defined deadlines and budget constraints while complying with relevant quality standards.
Establishing and documenting standards and methodologies to enhance processes and practices.
Assisting in the engineering of outsourced packages, conducting design checks, and participating in design reviews.
Ensuring all work meets the requirements and specifications set by regulatory authorities and clients.
Integrating information from vendors and subcontractors while conducting technical assessments of proposals.
Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and clients to incorporate delivered systems and components into the ship design effectively.
Your qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant experience in ship structures with a vocational background (MBO-4+).
At least three years of experience in a Structural Analyst role within the shipbuilding or offshore sectors.
Knowledge of ship class calculations and experience with tools like DNV-GL Nauticus Hull, LR-SSC, or BV MARS2000.
Proficiency in FEM modeling and analysis software, such as ANSYS, NX, or FEMAP, as well as CAD systems like NUPAS (3D), 3DX, or Catia.
Strong competencies in creative problem-solving, attention to detail, decisiveness, efficiency, and effective teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent command of both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong references, as a pre-employment security screening is part of the recruitment process.
