Job description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in automating operations in high voltage grids and making electrical energy supply more secure. You will actively contribute to shaping the energy transition by developing advanced power grid control center applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop power grid control center applications for network restoration.
Implement real-time algorithms using modern technology stacks in a Linux environment.
Develop and integrate APIs and data models based on CIM/CGMES (Common Information Model).
Collaborate closely with power grid and control system experts to deliver high-performance solutions.
Support Functions:
Ensure the delivery of stable, reliable, and secure solutions for control systems.
Collaborate with software engineering experts to pioneer architectures for power grid control center applications.
Management & Leadership:
Contribute to and share ideas in collaborative development processes.
Guide decisions on software architecture, balancing innovation and reliability in a critical infrastructure context.
Process & Improvement:
Follow modern software development workflows, including Version Control Systems (Git), CI/CD, and Test-Driven Development.
Actively participate in agile collaboration processes (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
Additional Responsibilities:
Stay updated on modern languages (e.g., Rust) and programming paradigms (e.g., functional and reactive programming).
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required.
Your qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Power Systems, or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills & Experience:
Several years of experience designing and implementing complex software systems with high-level languages like C++, C, or Java.
Experience with modern software workflows (Version Control, CI/CD, Test-Driven Development).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality in critical infrastructure contexts.
Languages:
Fluency in German or English.
