Job description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you play a crucial role in the construction and commissioning of advanced naval vessels equipped with meticulously designed power systems and wiring configurations that adhere to stringent regulations. You perform load balancing calculations, design power distribution systems, and identify optimal cable routes to ensure that all systems function reliably, even under extreme conditions. Based on the vessel's specific configuration, your electrical design must incorporate an EMC-compliant power distribution network for essential defensive and deterrent systems. You engage in collaborative work following the V-model within a 3DExperience engineering framework, ensuring that both basic and detailed designs undergo rigorous review, testing, and validation throughout the design and production stages.
Primary Duties:
Create functional descriptions, schematics, and essential engineering documentation for power distribution, lighting, and various electrical systems.
Establish and update specification documents for all electrical components and installation methods.
Draft comprehensive test and validation plans to ensure compliance with Class regulations and meet customer requirements during both virtual simulations and practical testing (FAT, HAT, SAT).
Oversee vendors and subcontractors to ensure their timely contributions to the project.
Assess designs from vendors and subcontractors to integrate them effectively into the vessel's overall design.
Formulate and detail standards and methodologies for comprehensive engineering and commissioning processes.
Assist in the proposal phase by creating conceptual designs for electrical power systems.
Provide technical assistance or commissioning support for ongoing contracted projects.
Your qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing intricate electrical systems, including extensive power distribution networks, ideally within maritime, offshore, or industrial sectors.
Experience in developing solutions that comply with EMC standards; knowledge of TEMPEST regulations is an added advantage.
Proven professional experience in managing complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
Familiarity with model-based system engineering (MBSE) principles, particularly following the V-model.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Strong references, as pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the hiring process.
Important!
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are mandatory; candidates holding only an NL/EU (work) visa or those with dual nationality (EU and non-EU) will not be considered due to military project requirements.
