Job description
In the role of Senior Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring that advanced naval vessels are constructed and delivered with fully functional automated systems, adhering to stringent regulations and standards. You will design the automation framework for intricate processes, which includes a variety of systems installed on the vessel. Depending on the configuration of the ship, your automation solutions may integrate multiple strategic defensive and deterrent systems. Your designs will feature cutting-edge automation capabilities, empowering the crew to monitor and control all onboard systems effectively. You will collaborate within a V-model framework in our 3DExperience engineering environment, where both foundational and detailed designs will undergo comprehensive reviews, testing, and validation during both the design and construction phases. The successful completion of your work will culminate in the launch of a new naval vessel, equipped to protect our freedoms worldwide!
Key Accountabilities:
Creating functional descriptions along with essential engineering documents and schematics for the automated systems aboard the ship.
Maintaining and updating specification documents for all automation components and their installation processes.
Developing comprehensive test and validation plans to ensure compliance with Class regulations and meet client specifications during both virtual simulations and real-world tests (FAT, HAT, SAT).
Overseeing vendors and subcontractors to ensure their timely contributions to the project.
Evaluating designs from vendors and subcontractors and integrating them into the overall vessel design.
Establishing standards and procedures for detailed engineering and commissioning activities.
Assisting during the proposal phase by crafting conceptual designs for system automation.
Providing technical support or commissioning assistance for projects under contract.
Your qualifications
To thrive as a Senior Engineer in Automation, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

Proven experience in managing complex projects that involve multidisciplinary teams and various suppliers and subcontractors.
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) in line with the V-model.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Excellent references, as a pre-employment security check is a standard part of the recruitment process.
Important:
