Job description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team, where traditional craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology in the creation of high-tech yacht equipment and propeller shaft installations. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing project progress, ensuring efficiency, safety, cost management, and maintaining high quality standards.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish for our clients. This includes working closely with shipyards and stakeholders, ensuring that the projects run smoothly from the design phase through to delivery. You will be the main point of contact for project leaders at the shipyards, and you’ll coordinate with various internal departments. Regular project team meetings will be part of your responsibility to maintain smooth communication. Our Project Management team consists of five project managers, each handling a specific client or shipyard.
Your responsibilities:
Monitor the production process and identify potential risks.
Manage the change management process between clients and the company.
Prepare quotes and assign tasks to the right team members.
Ensure successful project delivery to the client.
Budget projects and manage reporting.
The yacht equipment and propeller shafts are often custom-made, with each project being unique. As Project Manager, you will handle everything from quotations to installation. Depending on the yacht, this could involve anywhere from 5 to 35 custom items. At the moment, approximately 16 yachts are being worked on across multiple shipyards. You will collaborate closely with your project team, which includes a project preparer, project engineer, foremen, and project controllers.
You will report directly to the General Director.
Your qualifications
At least 3-5 years of project management experience.
A technical background in general engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering expertise.
You thrive in ensuring everything is delivered correctly the first time. Your success lies in managing project meetings effectively and ensuring everyone takes responsibility. You excel in resolving situations, like when a planned installation conflicts with other scheduled work at the shipyard, without negatively affecting the project’s outcome.
A completed higher education (HBO) degree, with additional training or experience in project management is preferred.
You are hands-on and regularly present on the work floor with your project team, staying informed about any developments on the departments involved in your project.
You can read and interpret technical drawings and reports and are comfortable preparing quotes.
You are fluent in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written, and reside in the Netherlands.
You are results-driven and client-focused, always looking for ways to improve project outcomes.
Experience in sales is a plus for this role, as you will also act as an account manager. While we all work on yachts, each shipyard remains an individual client.
If you have a strong background in managing complex projects in a technical, high-quality environment, we would love to hear from you!
