Job description
As the Project Coordinator for Manufacturing Engineering (ME), your role involves planning and designing the manufacturing processes for the entire shipbuilding project. You will enhance efficiency by assessing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly techniques, and workforce utilization. Additionally, you will identify the necessary parts and tools required to meet manufacturing objectives in line with product specifications. This position entails contributing to the planning, designing, establishing, modifying, optimizing, and monitoring of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Independently coordinate the complete ME process for in-house work, including structures, piping, outfitting, and mechanical systems.
Review technical specifications for subcontracted tasks to ensure compliance and quality.
Organize the manufacturing process and boost efficiency by analyzing and planning workflows, spatial requirements, and equipment configurations.
Develop comprehensive plans for subcontractors concerning critical processes, such as cable pulling.
Ensure product and process quality by creating testing methods, evaluating finished products/process capabilities, establishing standards, and verifying manufacturing workflows.
Provide essential information for manufacturing decisions by calculating production, labor, and material costs, as well as reviewing production schedules and forecasting future needs.
Complete ME design and development initiatives by training and mentoring technicians.
Contribute to the overall team efforts by achieving improvements in various aspects of the ME project.
Address inquiries from operational stakeholders and provide guidance and communication as needed.
Your qualifications
Over 4 years of experience in a machining or production environment, ideally within the shipbuilding sector.
Background in people management, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical field.
Proficient in both English and Dutch (written and verbal).
Strong references; a pre-employment security screening will be part of the recruitment process.
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are required. Candidates holding only an EU (work) visa or those with both EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible due to the military nature of our projects.
