As a Lead Engineer specializing in FEM, you will play a crucial role within the Structural Engineering team. Your main focus will be on all aspects of detailed FEM engineering within your area of expertise. You will lead a group of FEM engineers, overseeing the completion of all FEM deliverables, from initial engineering phases to yard support and vessel delivery.
Your tasks will involve ensuring the strength, stiffness, vibration resistance, shock endurance, producibility, and ease of maintenance of our projects, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
FEM Analysis Deliverables: Ensure all FEM analysis deliverables are completed on time and meet the requirements outlined in the Project Documents and Activity List (PDAL).
Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team of around 10 full-time engineers across 4 locations, overseeing tasks such as modeling, meshing, analysis, post-processing, reporting, and implementation.
Work Prioritization: Collaborate with the Lead Structures and Lead Structural Analysis Engineers to effectively prioritize and schedule tasks.
Data Coördination: Oversee the flow of data within the team and with external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all FEM deliverables meet the highest quality standards and are thoroughly reviewed.
Team Coördination: Work closely with project teams and other disciplines to ensure optimal solutions for the client.
Client and Class Coördination: Maintain communication with classification societies and clients to ensure alignment and satisfaction with project progress.
Engineering Excellence: Deliver high-quality engineering solutions within set deadlines and budget constraints while adhering to established quality standards.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects are fully compliant with regulatory requirements and client specifications.
Your qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
More than 5 years of relevant experience in ship structures, particularly within the shipbuilding or offshore sectors.
Strong proficiency in ANSYS (preferably APDL) Mechanical (implicit) is essential.
Experience with LS-DYNA (explicit) is highly preferred.
Familiarity with ship class calculations and software tools such as DNV-GL Nauticus Hull, LR-SSC, or BV MARS2000 is advantageous.
Proficiency in both written and spoken Dutch and English.
Excellent references are required, as a security screening will be part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are mandatory. Candidates holding an EU (work) visa or a non-EU nationality/passport are not eligible due to the security requirements of our projects.
