We are looking for an experienced Marine Piping Systems Engineer (Interim) to join our team in Vlissingen. In this important role, you will contribute significantly to the design and engineering of cutting-edge piping systems for advanced naval vessels. Your responsibilities will include analyzing technical specifications, creating and modelling engineering packages, and ensuring the seamless integration of piping systems while adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Your expertise will be vital in helping deliver complex maritime projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be expected to:
Analyze Specifications: Review and evaluate the technical requirements for piping systems, ensuring their alignment with project needs, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.
Engineering Package Development: Prepare and model basic engineering packages for piping systems in a 3D environment, following established engineering standards and regulations.
Detailed Engineering and Support: Develop detailed engineering packages and production documentation based on the initial designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Continuously update engineering packages as required, providing technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
Cross-Disciplinary Interaction: Work with multiple disciplines to optimize piping solutions and ensure integration with the overall project.
Project Design Reviews: Identify potential issues, recommend improvements, and actively participate in design reviews to ensure the project's success.
Compliance and Improvement: Ensure that all designs meet applicable regulatory requirements and contribute to the ongoing development of knowledge and best practices within the department.
Your qualifications
A relevant technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, along with at least three years of experience in piping systems engineering, preferably in shipbuilding or offshore installations.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, with practical experience in designing and modelling complex piping systems.
Experience working on high-end vessels, managing intricate projects, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and statutory bodies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Excellent reference antecedents, as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required. Candidates holding an EU (work) visa or those with both EU and non-EU nationality/passport are not eligible due to specific project requirements.
