CAD Engineer

Job description

As a CAD Engineer in the Proposals team, you will be essential in delivering tender packages. Your responsibilities will include creating drawings, diagrams, and layouts during the pre-contract phase. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the technical development of our proposals. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring accurate representation and detailed specifications for our naval projects. This position is officially titled "Draftsman."

Key Responsibilities

Creating detailed drawings and diagrams to effectively represent technical designs and their adherence to specifications.

Assisting in the generation of various graphical representations, including 3D models and prototypes.

Developing visual models of projects for clients using both digital and physical formats.

Assessing spatial requirements and determining functional allocations within the layout of naval vessels.

Conducting trade-off analyses to optimize the arrangement of onboard elements.

Contributing to the overall design architecture of our projects.

Working closely with departments such as engineering and production to facilitate the seamless transition of designs into later project phases.

Your qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Engineering, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Proven experience in producing drawings and diagrams within the shipbuilding sector and visualizing concepts through hand sketches or drawings.

A strong background in various design principles and practices, including hands-on involvement in coordinating the design process.

Proficiency in multiple CAD software tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Rhino.

Excellent command of both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Solid references, as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the hiring process.

Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are mandatory. Candidates with only an NL/EU (work) visa or holding both EU and non-EU nationalities/passports are not eligible due to the military requirements of our projects.
