Expediters
The Expediter compares the most recent data on a purchase order (PO), or contract, with the schedule. The Expediter checks to what extent this information is complete and provides periodic progress reports as and when needed. In addition, the Expediter reports and collects the necessary information and documentation relating to the products and services to be delivered. The Expediter reviews the equipment list and keeps it updated. The Expediter also ensures uniform and appropriate follow-up procedures and quality controls. The Expediter monitors the progress of the production and delivery of the goods-flow based on the required progress and provides regular expediting reports.
The tasks of an Expediter can include:
- Negotiations with subcontractors if progress is interrupted;
- Ensuring that the processing information is entered and maintained in the material management system;
- Visiting vendors to check up on the progress of critical issues,
- Provision of progress and completion reports.
