Mechanical engineers (static/rotating)
The Mechanical Engineer coordinates and arranges the assembly of all design documents in the mechanical field. This means that he / she is responsible for performing (feasibility) studies and engineering, calculating and specifying rotating (such as pumps and compressors) and static (boiler) equipment. He / she is responsible for the technical reports and is able to technically assess the delivery documents.
With all available information, the Mechanical Engineer is able to formulate the right budget for the project. In addition, he / she has good skills regarding discipline-specific software packages. Of course, a Mechanical Engineer is familiar with the standards generally expected in the field (including PED, PGS and API). He / she has frequent contact with other disciplines that are represented in the project.
The duties of a Mechanical Engineer Rotating and Static include:
- Producing equipment data sheets;
- Producing equipment specifications;
- RFQ technical (and commercial) bid evaluation for equipment (compressors, pumps, etc.);
- Manufacturing of equipment (technical) Purchase Orders;
- Review of equipment vendor documentation.
