E&I designers
The tasks of an E & I Designer include:
- Making basic and detailed drawings of the technical installations and instrumentation;
- Supporting the Senior E & I Designer or E & I Engineer with regard to technical correspondence and preparation of specifications for equipment and materials;
- Close collaboration with the other designers and other departments regarding the execution of the project;
- Being partly responsible for monitoring the planning and execution of the project, for both technical and structural implementation;
- The E & I Designer is an important link in the design phase and seeks the best technical solution for the project;
- Translating concepts into a technical design, sometimes making a selection of instruments, setting up specification sheets according to the specified customer requirements (sometimes following the instructions of an Instrument Engineer);
- Seeking suppliers and subcontractors when necessary, and having technical discussions with the end customer;
- When designing, taking into account the cost and the maintenance of the installations.
