For one of our clients in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Welding Inspector for a longterm project.
Tasks of the Welding Inspectors:
• Perform welding inspections.
• Ensure welding activities follow approved method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related engineering documentation regarding welding requirements.
• Review new welders assigned to ensure they are adequately qualified.
• Ensure new welding operator are suitably trained, tested and instructed on the request work-scope and quality requirements.
• Responsible to check contractor/vendor welding equipment is maintained in a current operable and calibrated condition.
• Ensure consumable control requirements are closely followed.
• Ensure that weld marking requirements and traceability are followed. Ensure completed welds are acceptable visual quality, prior to engage further NDT.
• Ensure the monitoring, witness and inspection requirements of the defined Inspection and Testing plan are followed and reports and finding, non-conformities are raised in a timely manner.
• Collect the data statistic of NDE rejection rate in weekly basis, analyse the root cause and further counter measure and actions.
• Discuss with contractor regarding the welding repair procedures and monitor the execution.
• Strictly enforces contractor / vendor to follow Company QA/QC and safety procedures / regulations.
Je profiel
Requirement:• Minimum 5 years experience in welding, NDT, Inspection, QC group in manufacture workshop, project site and operating plants.
• Sound technical knowledge in welding engineering and valid certification of IWE, AWS, ASNT or CSWIP.
• Solid understanding of local and international codes and standards eg. ASME, API, BS etc.
• Actively supports and assist other team member for their technical skills, knowledge improvement and development.
• Able to work under a extreme time factors and conditions especially during shut down and TAR.
• Able to work at confined space condition and hazardous areas and elevated locations.
• Use of reporting tools like MS office etc.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
