For our client in Zeeland we are hiring a Technical Specialist Functional Description.
As a Functional Description Specialist, you play a vital role in safeguarding the quality and consistency of equipment descriptions across naval engineering projects. You will work within a structured internal process to define and validate functional naming conventions that comply with project-specific requirements and established German naval standards (BV Heft C1‑242/0‑3041 – STBA). Close coordination with system owners ensures that all deliverables are accurate, clearly documented, and fully aligned with the expectations of the project’s technical stakeholders.

• Apply the internal naming methodology based on the required inputs and expected outputs.
• Coordinate and align all deliverables with system owners and relevant stakeholders.
• Plan, organise, and prioritise your tasks independently while proactively identifying and escalating issues when necessary.
Je profiel
• A background in naval engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of naval vessel systems and technical documentation.
• A good command of written and spoken German naval terminology.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• A proactive, organised mindset with flexibility to manage changing priorities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (1–2 times per month, short trips).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Permanent EU citizenship and a permanent EU passport (requirement due to the military nature of our projects).
• Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
