For our client in Zeeland we are hiring a Solution Architect.
As a Solution Architect within the IT Staff Department, you will take ownership of designing and shaping IT solutions that support a wide range of business and technology initiatives. Your role involves defining standardized architectures, producing detailed solution designs, advising project teams, and working closely with IT engineers to implement and enhance technical environments.
Operating in a highly complex organization of approximately 1,200 employees focused on naval shipbuilding, you will address challenges related to cybersecurity risks while ensuring security-by-design principles are embedded in every solution. You will contribute to diverse IT programs aligned with your expertise, while also having the opportunity to expand your knowledge and take on new technical challenges.
You will become part of an architecture team consisting of around ten professionals specializing in enterprise and solution architecture. The team applies the TOGAF methodology and uses the ArchiMate modeling language to structure and visualize the IT landscape. With established architectural standards, governance processes, and a clear strategic vision already in place, you will have the opportunity to further refine and strengthen these frameworks through your experience and insight.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advise stakeholders and develop both new and existing IT solution designs.
• Define and document reusable architectural building blocks and detailed technical designs.
• Support and guide project teams in selecting appropriate technologies and design approaches.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists and security architects to ensure that solutions meet security and compliance standards.
• Work closely with enterprise architects to guarantee alignment with overarching IT strategy, high-level architecture, and long-term vision.
Je profiel
• Over ten years of professional experience in IT roles, such as engineer or architect, delivering technical solutions.
• A minimum of five years of experience specifically within IT architecture is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and technical requirements into practical tools and system solutions.
• Experience with architectural tooling, modeling methodologies, and standardization practices is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, advisory, and influencing capabilities.
• Familiarity with governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks is considered beneficial.
• Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in Dutch.
• Strong professional references, as a security screening forms part of the recruitment process.
