As a Senior Naval Architect, you will be a key contributor to the creation of high‑end yachts by carrying out fundamental naval architecture analyses, shaping design choices, and offering expert guidance throughout each stage of development. You help ensure that every vessel achieves exceptional levels of safety, performance, and innovation.
You will collaborate within a diverse engineering team, reporting directly to the Technical Manager Shipbuilding and functionally supporting the Project Manager Engineering.
Your Purpose:
You deliver critical naval architecture calculations to support yacht development and provide technical insight for active projects. You take ownership of the accuracy of your work and actively recommend enhancements when design outcomes indicate the need for refinement.
Your Responsibilities:
Produce, verify, and update stability assessments, weight estimates, and all associated documentation.
Serve as a technical sounding board for the Engineering team and mentor junior Naval Architects.
Develop and evaluate calculations related to:
Propulsion performance
Watertight integrity schemes
Speed predictions and operational range
Tank layouts and volume analyses
Noise and vibration requirements
Compliance with class rules and regulatory standards
Other naval architecture and shipbuilding calculations essential for yacht construction
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare draft and final stability booklets and guide them through the approval process.
Conduct and support inclining experiments, including planning, execution, reporting, and formal acceptance.
Communicate with class organizations, surveyors, and regulatory institutions, ensuring timely follow‑up on their feedback.
Sea Trials & Project Support
Create the necessary protocols for Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Attend sea trials to confirm the vessel’s behavior and performance.
Document and communicate trial results with clarity and precision.
Work closely with fellow naval architects, project engineers, and cross‑disciplinary colleagues to address project progress, issues, and technical solutions.
Continuous Improvement
Help shape standardized engineering procedures and contribute to improved design methods.
Actively look for opportunities to optimise processes, methodologies, and technical documentation.
