For our client in the Amsterdam region we are hiring a Production Support Engineer
For this role we are looking for a Production Support Engineer who supports the production team with technical expertise throughout the build process of complex yachts.
In this position, you are responsible for a defined engineering scope within a project and act as the technical counterpart for production within your discipline. You translate detailed engineering into practical, workable solutions on the yard and provide clear explanations related to drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.
You play an important role in safeguarding engineering quality, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving manufacturability in close cooperation with production and other engineering disciplines. Based on your experience, you also contribute to knowledge sharing, coaching colleagues, and improving engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Supporting production during the build phase by providing technical solutions and explanations related to the final design.
• Ensuring engineering output complies with project specifications, internal standards, and applicable classification society and flag state regulations.
• Assessing manufacturability and technical feasibility in cooperation with other disciplines and production leads.
• Identifying technical bottlenecks and proposing practical, well-argued solutions.
• Independently resolving technical design and construction issues, escalating complex matters to the Lead Engineer where necessary.
• Signaling missing, incorrect, or conflicting information to engineering and production stakeholders.
• Reviewing and checking drawings and technical documentation before release to the yard or inspection authorities.
• Monitoring own planning and budgeted hours and maintaining cost awareness when design changes impact production.
• Coaching and guiding junior engineers or trainees within the discipline when applicable.
Je profiel
• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience as an engineer within the discipline or in a production support role in a similar environment.
• Strong technical insight in yacht building and production processes.
• Practical knowledge of production techniques such as welding, CNC machining, composite manufacturing, or outfitting.
• Experience working in or closely with a production environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with Siemens Teamcenter PLM systems.
• Knowledge of classification society rules, flag state regulations, and safety and quality procedures.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
