For our client in Zeeland we are hiring a HVAC Systems Engineer.
As an HVAC Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and cooling (HVAC-R) systems on board complex naval vessels. You will contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle, from the initial concept phase through to final delivery of the ship. During project execution, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve all required technical deliverables. By applying both your technical expertise and practical insight, you will ensure that HVAC-R systems are effectively incorporated into the overall vessel design in line with contractual requirements. A key part of your role is to secure seamless integration across departments, promoting strong collaboration and smooth project progression.

Daily communication with clients and subcontractors will be part of your routine, allowing you to play a direct role in delivering high-quality, innovative maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Daily communication with clients and subcontractors will be part of your routine, allowing you to play a direct role in delivering high-quality, innovative maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors based on client demands and design criteria.
• Perform technical assessments of subcontractor proposals in close coordination with the procurement department.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable contractual, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead technical discussions to establish an equal compliance baseline among competing suppliers, supporting effective commercial negotiations.
• Act as the primary technical contact for selected subcontractors, overseeing scope definition, interface management, progress tracking, and quality control during the engineering phase.
• Coordinate the integration of supplied components and systems into the ship design in collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and the vessel owner.
• Review and validate supplier documentation, such as mechanical drawings, schematics, calculations, and electrical diagrams.
• Maintain and update engineering databases, including procurement data, component records, metadata, and technical documentation.
• Conduct required technical calculations to verify and validate subcontractor designs.
• Prepare comprehensive technical and functional specification documents, such as System Design Specifications (SDS).
• Monitor subcontractor contractual obligations and document any deviations from agreed terms.
• Supervise outsourced HVAC detail engineering activities within a 3D design environment and verify deliverables.
• Confirm technical performance of products and systems through supplier inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
Je profiel
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related technical discipline, supported by relevant professional experience.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of HVAC-R systems within maritime or offshore environments.
• Familiarity with marine electrical systems and automation is advantageous.
• Strong awareness of quality, planning, and cost control principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple external suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience working with regulatory and classification authorities is considered a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
