Vacature omschrijving
As an Engineer specializing in Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that advanced naval vessels are designed, built, and delivered with optimal power systems and wiring arrangements that meet rigorous regulatory standards. Depending on the specific configuration of the vessel, your electrical designs will ensure EMC-compliant power distribution to critical defensive systems, even under the most challenging conditions. You will collaborate within a model-based system engineering environment, following the V-model, while ensuring that both basic and detailed designs are extensively tested, reviewed, and verified during the design and production stages. Ultimately, your contributions will lead to the commissioning of a new naval vessel, ready to serve with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of functional descriptions, technical drawings, and other key engineering documents related to power distribution, lighting, and various electrical systems.
Support the integration of electrical systems into the ship's overall design, ensuring all equipment, especially military systems, operates seamlessly.
Ensure that all designs comply with Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards, a critical requirement for ship design.
Develop detailed test and validation plans to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and customer specifications during virtual and physical testing phases (FAT, HAT, SAT).
Oversee the work of vendors and subcontractors to ensure their designs meet strict EMC standards.
Review external designs and provide assistance in incorporating them into the final vessel design.
Establish and maintain engineering standards and working methods for commissioning and engineering processes.
Assist in the proposal phase by ensuring EMC requirements are integrated into the conceptual designs of electrical systems.
Provide technical support and commissioning services for contracted projects.
Je profiel
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in designing complex electrical systems, including large power distribution networks, ideally in maritime, offshore, or industrial sectors.
Proven expertise in designing EMC-compliant solutions; knowledge of TEMPEST regulations is an advantage.
Solid professional experience managing complex projects, with multidisciplinary teams and multiple suppliers or subcontractors.
Familiarity with model-based system engineering (MBSE) and the V-model.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Excellent references, as a security clearance process is part of the recruitment procedure.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required.
Candidates holding only an EU work visa, or who possess both EU and non-EU nationality and/or passports, are not eligible due to the nature of our projects.
