For our client in Antwerp we are looking for an Electrical Commissioning Supervisor.
For a major industrial project in Antwerp, we are looking for an Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to oversee the pre-commissioning and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.
In this role, you will ensure that electrical systems are installed, tested and validated according to design specifications, project procedures and operational requirements. You will work closely with the Commissioning Manager, project engineers, vendors, subcontractors and other site disciplines to support safe and efficient commissioning execution.
The role requires strong practical commissioning experience with electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, HV and LV switchgear, control systems, interfaces, interlocks, loop checks and safety devices.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will ensure that electrical systems are installed, tested and validated according to design specifications, project procedures and operational requirements. You will work closely with the Commissioning Manager, project engineers, vendors, subcontractors and other site disciplines to support safe and efficient commissioning execution.
The role requires strong practical commissioning experience with electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, HV and LV switchgear, control systems, interfaces, interlocks, loop checks and safety devices.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and review commissioning plans and procedures for electrical systems.
• Integrate electrical commissioning activities into the overall project schedule.
• Review vendor procedures for electrical testing.
• Supervise vendor and subcontractor testing of electrical systems and equipment.
• Supervise testing of power distribution, transformers, HV and LV switchgear, control systems, interfaces, interlocks, loop checks and safety devices.
• Supervise electrical system integration tests to ensure safe and correct operation.
• Supervise protection testing and settings.
• Create and review commissioning test procedures for electrical systems.
• Determine temporary system requirements to enable commissioning testing.
• Prepare schedules for vendor testing, assistance and support.
• Determine plant, equipment, tools and specialist tool requirements for commissioning.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Document discrepancies in NCRs and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare or review commissioning reports, test results, inspection reports, punch lists and compliance documentation.
• Communicate test results and findings to the Commissioning Manager and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Participate in final acceptance and handover of commissioned electrical systems.
Je profiel
• Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Substantial experience in electrical commissioning or a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
• Experience with power distribution, transformers, switchgear, control systems and instrumentation interfaces.
• Experience supervising vendor and subcontractor testing activities.
• Able to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues effectively.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work with diverse teams and project stakeholders.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a site-based commissioning environment.
• English required. Dutch is a strong advantage.
• Valid VCA-VOL certificate preferred or willingness to complete before start.
